It is a member of the National Association of Schools of Music and is approved by the West Virginia Department of Education and the undergraduate education program is approved by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (2010 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Suite 500, Washington, DC 20036; telephone 1-202-466-7496). The College participates in the Interstate Certification Project, whereby a number of states certify teachers graduating from Wesleyan’s Department of Education.
The WVWC BSN and MSN programs are fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 850 Atlanta, Georgia 30326, (404) 975-5000. http://www.acenursing.org and the BSN program is provisionally approvedwith enrollment restriction by the State of West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered Nurses. The baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN), master's degree in nursing (MSN) and post-graduate APRN certificate programs at West Virginia Wesleyan College is pursuing initial accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.aacn.nche.edu/ccne-accreditation). Applying for accreditation does not guarantee that accreditation will be granted. Since the program’s inception in 2009, all students in the advanced practice concentrations (collaborative Nurse-Midwifery and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner programs with Shenandoah University and the WVWC Family Nurse Practitioner program) have had a 100% pass rate on national certification examinations. The Athletic Training Program of West Virginia Wesleyan College is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The program has been placed on Probation as of February 19, 2016 by the CAATE, 6850 Austin Center Blvd., Suite 100, Austin, TX 78731-3101.

The College holds membership in the Appalachian College Association, East Central Colleges, The National Association for Independent Colleges and University, the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, The National Association of Schools and Colleges of The United Methodist Church, Campus Compact, and the Council of Independent Colleges.
Wesleyan’s athletic programs are affiliated with the Mountain East Conference (MEC) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association, Division II.
